Cool, Calm and Collective

With all the heat a computer processor can generate, you have to wonder what devices are used to keep these gadgets cool.  One major computer corporation Intel, came up with a method to solve this mystery. A tool called a Heat Sink is composed of different materials with cooper being the best conductor to eliminate heat.  Less effective material such as steel and aluminum can be used to eliminate heat also, but like they say, "you get what you pay for."

The fans are powered by a 4-pin connector which is build onto the motherboard to keep the processor cool while the computer operates. Without these "fans" a computer could overheat and melt down. A motherboard can not survive without a heat sink installed with it.  A good processor's heat sink can keep the temperature around 90-110 degrees F, lower end models and material (aluminum/steel) may not be able to obtain this.
